American Express & Mission Australia Festival of Potential - CSS, HTML, Macromedia Flash, Facebook API, ActionScript

The Festival of Potential was a project organised in December 2010 by American Express and Mission Australia to raise money and awareness for Mission Australia’s Creative Youth Initiatives. With a reputation for providing excellent technical know-how and support to charitable organisations, Interesting was well placed to assist in the development of a Facebook application for the online aspects of the program. Visitors to the project website were encouraged to contribute text, images or videos to a 3D artwork entitled the "heART of Potential". The animated collaborated artwork would was displayed on the American Express Facebook pages to users who have 'Liked' the project. For each individual's entry submitted, American Express donated $25 to Mission Australia.

Interesting assisted Design agency Made with Ed and Marketing firm Momentum develop an interactive application for the festival, leveraging the Facebook APIs and 'Like' functions. The 'heart' consists of an Adobe Flash 3D pulsating heart, generated from the pool of submitted artworks, which is accessed via the Facebook application site. Visitors can search for other contributed entries by a series of filters, allowing them to share specific entries with other users and unlock the American Express Potential.

The website was completed and deployed successfully in October 2010. The American Express Festival of Potential culminated in an exhibition event in Sydney on the 3rd - 4th December with the completed heArt of Potential artwork being displayed publicly.
