In 2009, Interesting were approached by The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to assist Google with the development of a pledge location application. Interesting were required to contribute their expertise to the existing map solution, in particular focusing around enhancing the user experience.
Interesting worked closely with Google and WWF to develop a flexible, modular application that can be inserted into any of the WWF campaign pages. Campaign pledge information entered by users is stored by the application into a database, which is then displayed in a Google Maps based interface. Users are able to use the standard Google Maps controls to view the vote results overlayed on the world map.
The WWF Supporters Map application was completed in November 2009 and is currently used on a number of campaign pages including the
Earth Hour website.
