American Express Oprah Winfrey Competition - CSS, HTML, Javascript, ASP.Net 4.0 C#, Facebook API

In 2010, American Express Australia hosted a competition in celebration of the Oprah Winfrey Australian tour. Contracted design agency Made with Ed and Marketing firm Momentum engaged Interesting to assist in the development of a Facebook application to facilitate the competition. In order to enter in the competition, applicants had to submit to the competition a written brief describing their actions to help others to 'reach their potential'. The entries were then voted upon by visitors and other contestants. The winning participant received $100,000 towards their charitable cause, as well as an interview recorded at the 'Oprah House' in Sydney.

Interesting worked closely with the two agencies to develop a Facebook application to support the competition and facilitate communication throughout the duration. The application utilised the Facebook API and the 'Like' function to allow visitors to post images and other media to the competition pages, display on their own profiles, and share with friends. The 'Like' function's privacy settings also ensures that information is correctly served to the targeted audience.

The American Express Oprah Winfrey Show competition was launched in December 2010 to Facebook.com and was extemely successful.
