Medibank pet insurance

The next product in Medibank Private’s diversification strategy was Medibank Pet Insurance. The pet insurance product is offered through PetSure Australia and is underwritten by The Hollard Insurance Company.

After a successful co-operative effort on the Medibank Life Insurance pages, Interesting was chosen by PetSure Australia as the online development partner.

Interesting was tasked with the development of a public-facing quoting and purchasing process for Medibank Private's website, and two internal versions with copy and functionality optimised for use by either call centre or retail store staff.

Interesting developed initial versions of the three applications based on existing Medibank Private layout guidelines over the timeframe of 3 weeks. This basis enabled Medibank Private and PetSure to refine the product by going through a rigorous prototyping process with changes and new features being implemented several times a week.

For processing and fulfilment by PetSure, the application communicates with a webservice interface to register applications in the PetSure database.
